We will sell a better filter when it fits the rack and the blower can take the static. We will not lead with a UV light because the living room feels sticky.
Order of operations
- Does the system actually cool and run long enough to condense? See heat pumps and humidity.
- Is airflow there — filter, returns, supply?
- Then talk whole-home dehumidification, a media cabinet, or a ventilation idea that does not dump unconditioned swamp air into the return.
A 1-inch grocery-store filter cranked to MERV 13 on a blower that was never designed for it will ice the coil. That is worse IAQ, not better.
What “IAQ” means on our invoice
The thing we installed, the size, the change interval, and what it will not do (it will not fix a moldy crawl by itself). Crawl and attic water are building problems. HVAC can manage space humidity. It cannot pretend the vapor barrier exists.
